The Cause
A combat injury changes a veteran's life forever. According to the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, over 47,000 servicemembers have been wounded in Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom. Even though this number represents a small amount of our population, these Americans and their families have made significant sacrifices to protect our entire country. Every American owes these individuals an immeasurable amount of gratitude for our continued freedom and safety.
The America's Heroes Charity Golf Tournament, presented by the Naval Postgraduate School Foundation, strives to help these veterans regain the independence they fought to protect. The America's Heroes Charity Golf Tournament raises funds from golf tournament registration fees, auction proceeds, general donations, and corporate sponsorships to support wounded veterans charities and combat injury prevention initiatives.
You can get involved in the America's Heroes cause by: registering for the golf tournament, donating an auction item, making a donation, becoming a corporate sponsor, or attending the tournament dinner and participating in the auction. Each dollar raised makes a difference in a wounded veteran's life.
The Event
The tournament is held annually in August at Monterey Peninsula Country Club in Pebble Beach, California on the beautiful Shore and Dunes courses. The cost is $850 per golfer ($150 per non-golfing dinner guest). Corporate Sponsorship packages are also available. Online Registration opens in the spring of each year. The Beneficiaries
The beneficiaries of the event are the brave wounded veterans who have served our country. Thanks to the America's Heroes Charity Golf Tournament, these servicemembers and their families receive additional financial and emotional support directly through our beneficiary organizations.
The beneficiaries selected for the 2012 Tournament include: Sentinels of Freedom, Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund, Navy SEAL Foundation, Navy Marine Corps Relief Society, and the NPS Foundation [Learn more].
