The NPS Foundation is happy to be a part of the Alumni Relations and Centennial Headquarters Centennial Finale Weekend May 27-31, 2010.  Join with NPS to commemorate the end of the Centennial year with this historic celebration over Memorial Day Weekend.

Thursday’s events include President Oliver’s State of the School Address followed by the Centennial Time Capsule dedication. NPS students, faculty and staff are able contribute to the time capsule which will then be opened at the NPS Bicentennial in 2109.

Friday’s highlights include an Enrichment Lecture given by Captain Alan Poindexter, USN, NASA Astronaut and Commander of the recent STS-131 Mission to the International Space Station. Poindexter is one of NPS’ 38 Astronaut Alumni and will also be the guest of honor at the Centennial Finale Gala Saturday evening.

Also on Friday is the Centennial Wine and Beer Tasting "Toast the Peninsula" which will include an array of Monterey Peninsula wines for tasting.  All tasters will receive a complimentary Centennial wine glass with their tasting fee.  There will also be a silent auction and the proceeds will benefit the NPS Officer Student’s Spouses Club Scholarship Fund.

Saturday night is a can’t miss event as the Centennial Gala will be held in the McNitt Ballroom complete with greetings from the International Space Station.

On Monday, the popular Memorial Day Concert on the Lawn will be better than ever with campus tours, garden tours, an amped up Kid Zone with bounce houses, food and live entertainment throughout the day.
