
Tours of the historic Arizona Garden will be offered as one of the features of the NPS Memorial Day Concert on the Lawn on Monday, May 31, 2010. Every year, the campus opens its doors to the public on Memorial Day for this special concert and also to explore the campus which is otherwise closed to the public. Gates open at 10:00 am.
The Arizona Garden was originally designed for the Hotel Del Monte by renowned landscape designer Rudolph Ulrich. John Sanders, Dudley Knox Library Special Collections Manager will be guiding the historic tours of the Arizona Garden and has been working on the team to restore the garden, along with the NPS Foundation.
Tours are available at the following times:
10:30 am – 11:30 am
11:30 am – 12:30 pm
12:30 pm – 1:30 pm
Tickets are not necessary, just meet at the Arizona Garden at the appropriate time. The garden is located about 200 yards behind the Herrmann Hall Flagpole area.
