NPS has selected Dan Bursch as the school's Centennial spokesperson to promote all upcoming NPS Centennial events, increase visibility of the school, academics, and research, and to continue to represent the past, present and future of NPS.

Captain Dan Bursch, USN (Ret.) is one of NPS' 34 astronaut alumni and one of the school's most distinguished alumni.  He's a veteran of four space flights, including a six and a half month stay aboard the international space station, for which he set the space endurance record.

Currently, Bursch serves as the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) Chair and Professor in the Space Systems Academic Group at NPS.  In addition to his position at NPS, Bursch is also an active technical and motivational speaker.

As the Centennial spokesperson, he looks forward to participating in upcoming Centennial events and continuing to do outreach on behalf of his graduate alma mater.
