
Mr. Peter E. Blackstock, owner of Victory Toyota and Lexus Monterey Peninsula in Seaside, California, represents Northern California's franchised new-car dealers on the association's Board of Directors.
A member of NADA since 1968, Mr. Blackstock is currently the association's Region IV Vice Chairman. He serves on the board of directors for the American International Automobile Dealers Association (AIADA) and Automotive Free International Trade PAC. He also holds the positions of chairman of the Chairman's Club and director of the Political Action Committee for the California Motor Car Dealers Association (CMCDA).
At CMCDA, Mr. Blackstock has served as President, Director, Regional Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and State Convention Chairman. He was also Chairman of the association's Ad Hoc and Legislative committees, as well as Services Board and Insurance Trust. He currently serves as chairman of the Lexus Western Area and sits on the Lexus National Dealer Council.
Previously, Mr. Blackstock was Chairman of the NADA's Government Affairs Committee, Vice Chairman on the association's Grassroots Involvement of the Government Relations Committee, and chairman of Lexus on the Industry Relations Committee. He also served on the ATAE/NADA and Dealership Operations committees. He was president of the Monterey Peninsula Automobile Dealers Association from 1983 through 1988, Chairman of the three Dealer Business Management Groups (20 Groups) from 1984 through 1987, and Director and President of the Northern California Toyota Dealers Advertising Association from 1984 through 1987. He was Director and second Vice President of the Northern California Motor Car Dealers Association from 1984 through 1994, was on the San Francisco Region Toyota Dealer Council, and served as Representative, Council Chairman and Vice Chairman of the National Toyota Dealer Advisory Board from 1985 through 1989.
Mr. Blackstock's community activities include: City of Seaside task forces, Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce, Boy Scouts, Monterey County Symphony and Boys and Girls Club of Monterey. Previously, he served as foreman pro tem of the 1995 Monterey County Grand Jury, served on the Monterey County Sheriff's Advisory Council from 1986 through 1998 and was the vice-chairman of the Economic Development Committee Fort Ord Reuse Group from 1991 through 1992.
Mr. Blackstock attended Alfred University in Alfred, N.Y. and received a B.A. in Business Administration and Economic Theory and a minor in History and Political Science.
