Robert Rice

Mr. Robert Rice has worked over 44 years in the Television broadcasting industry. He worked for 26 years as a television station President/General Manager in four TV markets (Peoria, IL, Providence, RI, Portland, ME and Monterey, CA). He has also served as the President of the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce (1999 - 2002), Executive Director, Monterey Business Council (2002 - 2007), and Monterey County Business Council Director of Communications and Education (2007 - Present). Mr. Rice also served in the U.S. Army for two years.

Mr. Rice's professional involvements and accomplishments include: Chair, ABC Television Network Affiliate Board of Governors (representing 210 TV stations), Treasurer, National Television Bureau of Advertising, National Abe Lincoln Award for Television, and Southern Baptist Radio and Television Commission.

Mr. Rice's community involvements include: Boy Scouts/Eagle Scouts, Chair of the Red Cross of Central Illinois, Rotary, Anti-Drug, Adopt-A-School, Crime Stoppers, Peace Builders, First Day of School/Back to School Festivals, United Way of Monterey County, Annual Campaign Chair United Way (Providence, RI, Salinas, CA and Monterey, CA), Board member of Salvation Army, Church in the Forest, and the Naval Postgraduate School Foundation.

Mr. Rice grew up in upstate New York. He attended Ithaca College for a Master of Fine Arts in Radio. He also has a Master of Science in Television from Syracuse University. Mr. Rice and his wife Sandy reside in Monterey, California.
