Bill Warner


President

Mr. Bill Warner was co-founder of CacheFlow (now Blue Coat Systems: BCSI) in March 1997 and served as the company's Vice President of Sales and Business Development until April 2001, when he retired from the company. CacheFlow builds network infrastructure products for businesses to efficiently deliver web content across networks. [view full bio]



Admiral Henry H. Mauz, USN (Ret.)


Chairman

Admiral Henry H. Mauz retired from the Navy in November, 1994. He served over 35 years on active duty after graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy. His initial assignments were on destroyers in the Pacific Fleet, followed by a tour in Vietnam where he was in charge of ten River Patrol Boats operating on the rivers in the Mekong Delta. Admiral Mauz went on to command three ships; a minesweeper, a guided missile destroyer and a cruiser. His professional education included the Naval Postgraduate School, the Air Force Command and Staff College, and the Naval War College. [view full bio]



Michael Chandler


Vice President

Mr. Michael Chandler is the former President of General Dynamics Information Technology. During his time at General Dynamics Information Technology, Mr. Chandler led a diverse organization of 16,000 professionals that provided systems integration, information technology, systems engineering and professional services to customers in the defense, intelligence, homeland security, federal civil and commercial sectors. Mr. Chandler has also served as President of General Dynamics Network Systems and President of General Dynamics Worldwide Telecommunications Systems. [view full bio]



RADM James B. Greene, USN (Ret.)


Vice President

Rear Admiral James B. Greene, Jr. USN (Ret.) is the Acquisition Chair for the Naval Postgraduate School. RADM Greene develops, implements and oversees the Acquisition Research Program in the Graduate School of Business and Public Policy. He interfaces with the DoD, industry and government leaders in acquisition, supervises student MBA projects and conducts guest lectures and seminars. Before serving at NPS, RADM Greene was an independent consultant focusing on Defense Industry business development strategy and execution (for both the public and private sectors), minimizing lifecycle costs through technology applications, alternative financing arrangements for capital-asset procurement, and "red-teaming" corporate proposals for major government procurements. Karen Hargrove


Vice President

Before her retirement from Microsoft Corporation, Ms. Karen Hargrove worked in research and advanced development for the company's digital office systems. From a leadership role, she guided and helped implement Microsoft's vision for integrating personal computers with other office technologies. Ms. Hargrove employed her business and technical background in creating new businesses worldwide and overseeing the growth of Microsoft product technology. [view full bio]

As the former Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Corporate Resources for Sun Microsystems, Inc., McGowan held management responsibilities for Sun's finance, legal, information technologies, and global business services functions. CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER(R) Professional Ken Petersen is a Registered Securities Principal and Registered Investment Advisor Associate of Petersen & Ramistella, Inc. in Monterey, California. He has an MBA with an emphasis in Finance from Old Dominion University in Virginia, an MS degree in Operations Research/Systems Analysis from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, and a BS in Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. Darnell M. Whitt II


Secretary

Dr. Darnell Whitt is a specialist in American foreign policy and international security, for which he has served in a variety of appointments in and out of government and academic institutions. Most recently, he was a Professor of Defense Policy at the Defense Resources Management Institute, a teaching and research center founded and supervised by the Secretary of Defense, and located at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. RADM Skip Armstrong


USN (Ret.)

Rear Admiral Skip Armstrong retired from active duty with the United States in October 1987 after 32 years as a Naval Officer. A Naval Aviator with over 7,000 hours in more than 60 fixed and rotary wing aircraft, he held both aviation and surface ship commands. While on active duty, Admiral Armstrong's specialties were in the areas of strike warfare operations and in strategic planning, gaming and analysis. [view full bio]



Donald R. Beall

Mr. Donald R. Beall retired from Rockwell in 1998 after a 30-year career. He served as Chairman/CEO or President/COO for 20 years. Rockwell was a global leader in aerospace, electronics and automotive markets. He is involved in numerous professional, educational, public service and philanthropic endeavors and is an investor, director, and/or advisor with several venture capital groups, individual companies and investment partnerships. Peter Blackstock

Mr. Peter E. Blackstock, owner of Victory Toyota and Lexus Monterey Peninsula in Seaside, California, represents Northern California's franchised new-car dealers on the association's Board of Directors. A member of NADA since 1968, Mr. Blackstock is currently the association's Region IV Vice Chairman. He serves on the board of directors for the American International Automobile Dealers Association (AIADA) and Automotive Free International Trade PAC. He also holds the positions of chairman of the Chairman's Club and director of the Political Action Committee for the California Motor Car Dealers Association (CMCDA). [view full bio]



Dr. Vance Coffman

Dr. Vance D. Coffman retired in April 2005 as Chairman of Lockheed Martin Corporation. He was elected Chairman in April 1998, having served as CEO and Vice Chairman since August 1997. He served in a series of elected corporate leadership positions including President and Chief Operating Officer of Lockheed Martin's Space & Strategic Missile Sector. Prior to the merger of Lockheed and Martin Marietta Corporations in 1995, he served as Executive Vice President of Lockheed Corporation. David B. Deniger

Mr. David Deniger is a retired private equity investor. Over the past 35 years Mr. Deniger has been a Founder, CEO and Portfolio Manager of a number of investment strategies with intuitional investors, high net worth families and major capital sources. Since 1993, Mr. Deniger has been a partner in a series of discretionary private equity funds with Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst and Olympus Partners where he has served as the CEO and General Partner. Dr. Richard Elster

Dr. Richard Elster has just stepped down as Academic Dean and Provost of the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS). He served in this position since July, 1995. Since joining Oblix in 1999 as president and CEO, Mr. Gordon Eubanks has managed the company's rapid growth and established its positions as the industry's leading provider of Enterprise Identity Management Solutions. Prior to joining Oblix, Mr. Eubanks spent 15 years as president and CEO of Symantec Corporation, where his emphasis on customer care, collaborative partnerships and strategic acquisitions transformed Symantec into one of the world's most prominent software companies. Previously, Mr. Eubanks founded C&E software (which Symantec acquired in 1984) and served as a senior executive at Digital Research, Inc., where he was responsible for commercial systems software development and marketing. Suzanne Gehri Fortune

Col Suzanne Gehri Fortune, USAF (Ret) has over 30 years experience as business executive and military professional. A retired US Air Force Colonel specializing in international/joint logistics and airlift operations, her 24-year career included both squadron and group commands, a joint tour as Chief of the US European Command's Logistics Operations and International Divisions, and four years as an Instructor/Assistant Professor at the US Air Force Academy. James Hebenstreit

Mr. James B. Hebenstreit is the current President of Bartlett and Company. Bartlett's principal businesses are grain merchandising and storage, flour and feed milling, and cattle feeding. Barlett and Company has been named one of FORBES 400 Largest Private U.S. Companies. Mr. Hebenstreit's earlier professional career includes endeavors in banking, venture capital and manufacturing. Bob Kavner

Mr. Bob Kavner is a private investor in early stage technology companies. He is Chairman of Earthlink and Ironport Systems and was previously Chairman of the Board of Overture Services (purchased by Yahoo). Mr. Kavner is also a Board Member of Shop.com, Pandora and Idealab. He has also been actively involved with the creation of new technology businesses at Idealab since its inception in 1995. David K. Liskin

Mr. David Liskin is a Naval Postgraduate School Foundation Founder Member, investor, and philanthropist. Mr. Liskin was born in Englewood, New Jersey and is a graduate of the University of Maryland and also has his Masters degree in Plant Physiology from the University of Rhode Island. Mr. Liskin also studied Quantum Mechanics at St. Joseph's University of Philadelphia. [view full bio]



Richard J. Pagnillo

Mr. Richard Pagnillo served on active duty in the Navy until 1971. He primarily served as a Pilot/Tactical Coordinator in ASW aircraft but also taught at the US Naval Academy, was in Cuba during the missile crisis and had two tours in Vietnam. He served as a Naval Reserve officer and retired in 1980 as a Commander. Mr. Pagnillo received a Bachelor of Science degree from the US Naval Academy in 1959 as well as a Master of Science degree from the Naval Postgraduate School in 1965. He has also completed 30 hours of postgraduate work in accounting and taxation through American University and Golden Gate University. [view full bio]



David Reese

Mr. David Reese is currently a General Partner in Inlign Capital Partners, and is General Partner of RHYS Limited Partnership in Paradise Valley, Arizona. Previously, Mr. Reese has served on the Board of Directors of Fifth Third Bancorp, Cincinnati, Ohio, and as Chairman of State Savings Company, Columbus, Ohio; Chairman of State Savings Bank, F.S.B., Scottsdale, Arizona; Chairman of Sundance Broadcasting, Inc., Phoenix, Arizona; and Chairman of Sundance Broadcasting of Idaho, Inc. Robert Rice

Mr. Robert Rice has worked over 44 years in the Television broadcasting industry. He worked for 26 years as a television station President/General Manager in four TV markets (Peoria, IL, Providence, RI, Portland, ME and Monterey, CA). He has also served as the President of the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce (1999 - 2002), Executive Director, Monterey Business Council (2002 - 2007), and Monterey County Business Council Director of Communications and Education (2007 - Present). Robert D. Rogers

Mr. Robert D. Rogers was named Chairman of the Board for Texas Industries, Inc. in October of 2004. His election to Chairman of the Board followed a career as CEO and President of TXI. He retired as CEO in 2004. Mr. Rogers was President and CEO of TXI for 34 years. His leadership helped the company grow from annual revenues of $82,742,000 in 1970 to over $1.6 billion in 2004. He was instrumental in the Company's national growth through business expansions from California to Virginia. In the early 70's, Mr. Rogers helped in the creation of Chaparral Steel which was later merged with TXI in 1997. [view full bio]
