What is the NPS Foundation?

The NPS Foundation is a non profit 501 (c) (3) organization (Tax ID: 23-7098729) whose primary mission is to support the students, faculty and staff of the Naval Postgraduate School. The NPS Foundation creates programs and services that reinforce NPS initiatives. Similar to other educational institutions, private support is vital to achieve standards above the sustaining level of public support. Private donations help to enhance the educational experience of NPS to the level of the country's best institutions of higher learning.

The NPS Foundation uses these private contributions to:

• Provide academic awards for deserving students
• Recognize distinguished faculty
• Facilitate student and faculty research
• Sponsor lectures
• Upgrade facilities and equipment, labs and classrooms
• Promote NPS visibility and community involvement
• Assist with historic preservation, library programs, museum displays, and student recreational opportunities
• Sponsor a distinguished speaker program
• Support international students and programs
• Endow faculty chairs
• Fund student and faculty events
• Provide discretionary funds for NPS leadership
