Robert J. Skinner II

Robert J. Skinner II is a senior managing director and wealth manager at First Republic Investment Management. Mr. Skinner has served as an advisor to wealthy families, entrepreneurs and institutional investors since 1998. He began his career at Fidelity Investments, before joining Merrill Lynch as first vice president of investments. In 2008, Mr. Skinner co-founded Luminous Capital, an independent registered investment advisory firm. At Luminous, he served as the co-head of investment research and co-manager of portfolio construction. Luminous Capital managed $5.5 billion in assets when it was acquired by First Republic Bank in 2012 and the team now manages more than $14 billion in assets.

‚ÄčIn 2017, Mr. Skinner was named one of America’s top wealth advisors by Forbes. He was also named as one of “America's Top 100 Advisors” by Barron's Magazine in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017. Active in the community, Mr. Skinner serves on the board of directors for The First Tee of Monterey County and the board of directors for The Pebble Beach Foundation. Mr. Skinner also serves on the board of The University of Connecticut Foundation and serves on the Investment Committee. In addition, he and his wife support the American Heart Association, The Monterey Museum of Art, and The Boys and Girls Club of Monterey. Mr. Skinner holds a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Connecticut.
