
Converge @ NPS is a catalyst for linking applied research, latest technologies, education, and operational priorities to solve the most pressing national security challenges for the Joint Force and our allies and partners. Held July 22–24, the event convened more than 550 active-duty students, defense-focused faculty, industry, military and government professionals, venture capital firms, and alumni to discover the latest research and explore emerging technologies.
One of the defining moments of Converge @ NPS was the commissioning of the NVIDIA DGX GB300 supercomputer for NPS, expanding AI education, research, and experimentation for the Department of the Navy and Joint Force. The milestone highlighted a central theme of Converge @ NPS: meaningful public-private collaborations can rapidly deliver transformational capabilities while preparing military leaders to understand, evaluate, and responsibly employ emerging technologies. Throughout the three-day event, more than 30 industry and government organizations showcased technologies and collaborative opportunities alongside NPS student and faculty research spanning artificial intelligence, contested logistics, cybersecurity, energy resilience, autonomous systems, wargaming, and other mission-critical disciplines.

During RIMPAC 2026, the Naval Postgraduate School's Consortium for Advanced Manufacturing Research and Education (CAMRE) and FLEETWERX demonstrated a first-of-its-kind digitally-crewed surface vessel resupply mission, manufacturing critical components, transporting them autonomously, and delivering them to joint forces in less than 24 hours. The demonstration showcased how advanced manufacturing, autonomous logistics and joint force collaboration can accelerate expeditionary sustainment and strengthen readiness in contested environments. First As USV Docks With US Warship While Underway During RIMPAC 2026
A RIMPAC 2026 exercise marked a world first as an uncrewed surface vessel autonomously docked with the USS Essex while underway to deliver parts produced ashore and return components manufactured aboard the ship. The operation was overseen by CAMRE at the Naval Postgraduate School, in collaboration with Splash Industries and FLEETWERX, demonstrating new approaches to contested logistics and advanced manufacturing. The Naval Postgraduate School hosted the 2026 Connections USA Wargaming Conference, bringing together wargaming practitioners to build relationships, exchange ideas, and share best practices. The event showcased NPS' multidisciplinary approach to designing and executing data-driven wargames while advancing research, education, and policy in support of naval and joint force priorities. Cyclists gather for twilight event at Laguna Seca
Cyclists of all skill levels gathered at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca for Twilight Cycling, a family-friendly event hosted by the Naval Postgraduate School Foundation Cycling Club. The event brought together the NPS community and local riders for an evening on the track featuring open cycling, a circuit race, and giveaways, with another Twilight Cycling event scheduled for Oct. 14. Mike Lippert, MS in Systems Engineering '19, has joined NASA's Quesst mission as an X-59 test pilot at NASA's Armstrong Flight Research Center. Erin Hoffman, Executive Leaders Program '23, has been appointed deputy under secretary for management at the Department of Homeland Security.
