NPS Foundation names NVIDIA, Dell Technologies and Sterling as Corporate Partners of the Year

By:

The Naval Postgraduate School Foundation is pleased to recognize NVIDIA, Dell Technologies and Sterling Computers as its 2025 Corporate Partners of the Year. Their leadership and contributions have resulted in advanced simulation technologies and an artificial intelligence ecosystem at the Naval Postgraduate School that will accelerate the adoption of AI.

Together, the 2025 recipients facilitated the integration of advanced commercial capabilities into the educational and technical activities on the NPS campus to empower students, faculty, federal sponsors and industry partners with cutting-edge resources.

“The technologies powering the current and future fight don’t come from government. These partners are embedding resources and expertise where it matters alongside active-duty students shaping solutions for the Fleet and Force. NVIDIA, Dell and Sterling are showing what it looks like when industry steps up as mission-driven partners.” - Todd Lyons, Executive VP, NPS Foundation

NVIDIA formalized its relationship with NPS in late 2024 and rapidly brought in Dell, Sterling and an ecosystem of collaborators to ensure mission effectiveness. NVIDIA has contributed access to its Omniverse platform, Deep Learning Institute resources, and on-the-ground support from embedded technologists and engineers.

Dell and Sterling delivered the hardware, storage infrastructure and systems integration required to deploy the NVIDIA Omniverse at NPS marking a new capability within the Department of the Navy.

Their generous investments of hardware, software and services are fueling AI-enabled research and supporting the development and application of modeling and simulation tools, AI platforms and collaborative environments that advance education and operational capability development.

“Transformative innovation happens when education, technology, and collaboration intersect. The Naval Postgraduate School is building an environment where students, researchers, and partners can experiment with real-world tools in real time. Sterling is proud to help bring that vision to life by integrating platforms that support AI, simulation, and rapid solution development.” - Christopher Cyr, CTO, Sterling

To support and sustain the infrastructure, programming and related collaborative work, the NPS Foundation has so far committed $5 million to operation, maintenance and application of the hardware. This includes funding for personnel, applied research, experimentation and capability development that leverages the technology, tools and resources provided by this partner triad. The NPS Foundation’s investment enhances curricula, deepens collaboration with industry and federal sponsors, and advances efforts to accelerate AI implementation.

The Corporate Partner of the Year Award is presented annually to industry leaders who bring critical technology, insight and resources into the hands of Naval PostgraduateSchool students and faculty to accelerate the development and adoption of capabilities that enhance mission readiness, strengthen deterrence and advance impactful global initiatives.
